“I do not forget when Prime Minister Rama proposed to me in May 2017 to take over the position of Deputy Minister of Justice in the joint government with the Democratic Party telling me:I know you will say no, but do not say it without thinking. You are part of those who have stepped into the sea to reform justice. This is the moment to say yes, not to avoid this new responsibility! ”
This was “unveiled” last Saturday at the renaissance congress by Justice Minister Etilda Gjonaj, who in her short speech deliberately mentioned 5 times the PM, the Renaissance leader of the ruling Socialist party.
The minister said that she was determined to strike past wrongs, to open the cover of all the files of the… unnamed wrongdoers…
She lashed out at those (unnamed figures) who “threaten and blackmail in the name of Justice Reform even our strategic allies, that they can hinder our partnership with the United States and the European Union”.
Even in the hall where the Lady Justice spoke – the authority supposed to have in mind and heart and character the classical world-wide known Scales of Justice, many of her colleagues have chuckled at the word and propaganda recited by her in competition with all the other renaissance leaders to please the boss, to cement positions of power, making worthless estimations even to the ‘strategic allies’.
Do Brussels and Washington really believe these ‘serenades’?
I do not know this … but I am aware of as many of us that all states and their diplomatic missions abroad work for the immediate and long-term interests of their countries.
If they had been sincere enough now, after 30 years of transition,
Albania would have had justice and, above all, it would not have been emptied in a frightful way as it is occurring.
The routine slogan “we do not interfere in internal affairs” does not hold water because as a matter of fact they are inside of everything in Albania. Moreover some of them do not hesitate to make public corrections in terms of foreign policy of official Tirana something they don’t dare to do with other states such as Serbia, the prima donna for all!
The renaissance officials and particularly the Lady Justice, the very one who holds the command of the Scales of Justice should have been the last one in the pro-American declarations because no one can forget the anti-Trump anathemas released at the White House environment in Washington by her boss who is now in ‘love’ with this US president…! It was the very time of presidential elections in US.
I have a personal conviction that the Lady Justice is so conscious to realize that the sea is ‘immense water’ which cannot be crossed on foot- many more experienced lords could not do it, they have failed even by using the best ‘navigation’ means.
Albanians are tired of ‘guides’ who beat about the bush as they know very well that actually they run Day and night the water to their mill…
The call of Albania’s president Ilir Meta on the people of the nation to topple the renaissance government, which he accused of violating the country’s constitution and of links to organized crime is a bell of alarm tolling for every Albanian.
It’s crystal clear that the justice system reform approved three years ago to root out bribery and ensure that judges and prosecutors are independent from politics, part of the effort to embrace EU standards, has failed in this Balkan nation of nearly 3 million who are invited by President Meta to come to the capital Tirana on March 2, 2020. He said on that day he plans to sign his first decree against what he says is a “coup d’etat” being carried out by the government through the justice system.
The Lady Justice should have got the message and that’s why she beats about the bush!
