“Russia was left alone yesterday in vetoing the resolution co-drafted by the US and Albania in the UN Security Council,” said Foreign Minister Olta Xhacka after the rejection of the resolution on the aggression against Ukraine by the UN Security Council on Friday.
According to a post on social networks, Xhacka said on Saturday that the resolution calls for an end to the aggression against Ukraine. “What Russia is doing is illegal, it is an attack on international law and order based on rules,” she said.
“This attack cannot continue, so let us all stand together for Ukraine,” she said.
Some 80 UN member states co-sponsored the resolution, while 11 of the 15 members of the Security Council voted in favor of it. Among the 5 permanent members of the Security Council, Russia vetoed it while China abstained. / Argumentum.al
