TIRANA, August 3 – The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEFA) reacted on Thursday to the news published on several portals about the freezing of MEFA’s bank accounts.
“The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs considers as untrue and completely abusive the information published on several portals regarding the so-called “freezing” of the bank accounts of the MEFA or the Albanian diplomatic missions, including Italy,” the announcement said.
“MEFA informs the public opinion and the media that based on the Vienna Convention, the bank accounts of MEFA and every diplomatic representation of the Republic of Albania enjoy diplomatic immunity and thus they are inviolable under any circumstances,” it stressed.
“Each employee of the MEFA and the service abroad, both in Italy and in any other country, has received payment regularly, like the one in July, in accordance with the laws and the labor code,”concluded the foreign ministry. /argumentum.al
