TIRANA, June 30 – The 42nd President of the United States of America, Bill Clinton, will pay a visit to Albania which will take place on the eve of America’s Independence Day, which falls on July 4.
According to an announcement of TV Klan on Friday, former President Clinton will arrive in Albania on July 3, following an invitation extended by Prime Minister Edi Rama. He will be welcomed by the head of the government in an official ceremony that will be organized on the boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit” in Tirana.
Then the former head of the White House and the Prime Minister will have a joint statement.
Former President Clinton’s visit was also commented on by the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha in a post on social networks.
“Whenever he comes to Albania, he comes as a national hero in the sense of his historical role that he played in the liberation of Kosovo,” said Berisha.
“He is etched on the memory of this nation as one of the greatest friends of all time. On behalf of the DP, I welcome him!” said Berisha,
Former President Clinton enjoys great popularity among Albanians due to his support for Kosovo and leadership of the bombing campaign against Serbia. It is not clear if his visit to Tirana is related to the situation between Kosovo and Serbia. /argumentum.al
