TIRANA, November 4 – The protest of opposition forces on November 12 will be a very important day for the democracy in Albania, has said the head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta.
In a press conference on Friday, Meta said that the citizens have been waiting for this protest against all the scandals of the government.
“We have invited the citizens and we are sure that they have been eagerly waiting for a date to express their impatience for change and protest against all these shameful scandals in which this government is involved, which has hit the perspective of the country and killed the hope of young people,” said Meta, a former president.
According to him, November 12 will be an important day for democracy and the reawakening of national dignity.
The 10-fold increase in fines for businesses found to be in violation, the removal of the differentiated excise duty on beer and the tax on energy producers are the three government decisions that Meta considered absurd.
Meta said that the changes to the Fiscal Package harm domestic production while he said that the solution to all problems is only the removal of PM Edi Rama.
“Similarly, in these conditions of unemployment and crisis, the removal of the differentiated excise duty for beer, contrary to the EU directive, not only affects local production, but also risks closing thousands of jobs,” he said. Meta also considered the threat of taxing the private power producer absurd. “It is aimed at intimidating those who, with all the difficulties, have saved society and the state hundreds of millions of euros.”
Former president said that it is time for all honest businesses that feel violated by this government to react starting from November 12. “The only solution is the immediate removal of Edi Rama and the Rilindja (Renaissance) gang,” said Meta. /Argumentum.al
