The German Air Force dropped food over the embattled Gaza Strip on a second aid flight on Sunday.
According to the military, 4.4 tons of material were dropped by parachute on four pallets from German C-130 Hercules aircraft flying out of Jordan. Several other countries also deployed transport aircraft as part of the mission.
Civilians in the besieged Gaza Strip, which has largely been blockaded by Israel since October and subject to repeated airstrikes and an ongoing Israeli ground offensive, has become catastrophic.
Aid workers in Gaza report severe shortages of basic supplies, including food, shelters, medicine, medical care and sanitary facilities.
