TIRANA, August 29 – Gledis Nano has resigned from the position of General Director of Police. Unconfirmed sources told TV Klan on Monday that he had submitted his resignation to the Minister of the Interior, Bledi Cuci.
The motivation for leaving office is not yet known.
It is learned that the main candidate for the position of General Director of Police is Muhamet Rrumbullaku, who currently holds the position of Director of the Police Oversight Agency.
General Director Gledis Nano took office in October 2021, replacing Ardi Veliu.
He was introduced as a strong hand in the fight against corruption and organized crime but it can be said that his entire period of duty has been characterized by an upsurge of crime and drug trafficking and illegal trafficking of human beings.
