Open to almost all the countries, the borders of Greece are closed for Albanian citizens to travel to the neighboring country, according to an announcement released on May 31, 2021 by the Local Directorate of Border and Migration in Korca, southeastern part of this Balkan country. “The Greek side has again postponed the closure of the border checkpoint in Kapshtica until June 7,” said the local police authorities.
But it is informed that Albanian citizens having the status of seasonal workers will continue to be allowed to enter Greece during the time interval from 08: 00 to 16: 00. “These citizens will undergo a rapid Covid-19 test near the Greek side of this crossing point,” said the announcement.
The daily admission quota continues to be 400 people, who must fill out the PLF registration form at the address http://www.travel.gov.gr and after receiving the confirmation they can be allowed to enter the Greek territory.
No other category of citizens will be allowed to enter Greece (taxi service, heavy tonnage vehicles or citizens with a residence permit, Greek or other European citizens). In the meantime, all citizens and categories of vehicles are allowed to enter Albania from Greece from 06:00 to 22:00 every day.
The mentality of Albanian authorities has erased the diplomatic norm of reciprocity which humiliates even more this tiny Balkan country in the eyes of neighbors, the EU and the world.
