TIRANA, March 12 – The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani received on Sunday the Foreign Minister of Greece, Nikos Dendias who is paying an official visit to Pristina, according to a report by KosovaPress which quoted a presidential statement.
Osmani appreciated the proactive commitment of Greece in the region, as well as the continuous support of the Greek state for the integration of the Western Balkans in the European Union.
“In this spirit, President Osmani requested that Greek support for Kosovo’s membership in the Euro-Atlantic institutions continue in accordance with the common Euro-Atlantic values. Among other things, President Osmani has emphasized that the full international integration of Kosovo, including the European Union, NATO and the Council of Europe, would contribute to sustainable peace in the region,” it was said in the statement.
Further Osmani thanked Minister Dendias for Greece’s support for the liberalization of visas for Kosovo citizens in the last vote of the Council of the European Union.
Regarding the recent developments in the dialogue process between Kosovo and Serbia, Osmani noted that the implementation plan of the agreement must be in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic, which will contribute to long-term peace and stability in the region, and reiterated that the coordination of Kosovo with allies in this process will continue.
“Kosovo-Greece relations were also discussed at the meeting in which case President Osmani expressed her willingness to further deepen bilateral relations, mentioning the need to increase commercial and economic exchanges, as well as cooperation in various spheres of common interest,” the statement concluded. /Argumentum.al
