TIRANA, November 28 – Albania celebrates 111 years of independence, since on November 28, 1912, Ismail Qemali raised the flag in Vlora, declaring Albania a sovereign state.
On this marked day for Albanians, the flag raising ceremony was held, where Prime Minister Edi Rama, President Bajram, Begaj, Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, Speaker of Parliament Lindita Nikolla, head of Vlora Municipality, Ermal Dredha, etc. were present.
Part of the ceremony is the raising of the Flag and the placing of flower wreaths on the monument of Ismail Qemali.
After the performance of the national anthem, President Begaj, Prime Minister Rama, Prime Minister Kurti and Speaker of Parliament Nikolla laid wreaths and respectfully bowed near the monument symbolizing the crowning of centuries-old efforts for freedom and independence, as a tribute on this important national day of remembrance.
Albania celebrates today November 28, 111 years since the declaration of Independence. November 28 is also known differently as Flag Day, an important day for Albanians in the Albanian territories and around the world.
