TIRANA, August 6 – Homage in honor of the late former Director General of the State Police, Fadil Canaj, were held at the premises of the Police Directorate in Tirana on Sunday and the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, leaders and employees of this the institution, officials and personalities of public life were among those who attended.
“I am here to express my condolences to the family of the deceased. I remind the public and Albanians that Canaj has had an important role in the re-establishment of the State Police in difficult days. He has played an important role in establishing the force of the state and the law throughout the territory of the Republic,” said Balla.
Afterwards, family members, friends and acquaintances accompanied the deceased Canaj to his last residence to bid him a final farewell.
Fadil Canaj passed away at the age of 72 on August 5, 2023. He has held important positions as Chief of Police in Durrës, Director of Police in Tirana, General Director of Police, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Chief of Cabinet of several ministers. /argumentum.al
