TIRANA, June 27 – Prime Minister Edi Rama declared in Brussels on Tuesday that “I am very happy that we managed to free the three policemen taken hostage and it is time to intervene immediately so that the situation does not escalate (between Kosovo and Serbia).”
Rama praised all internationals and himself for what they had done to release the Kosovo police officers in a joint press conference with the High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell after their meeting.
Addressing Borrel, Rama said that “you yourself mentioned that it is an urgent situation and we are fully committed to work with you, with all our allies in order not to allow this situation to negatively affect the region.”
In addition he said they had done many things with the Berlin Process, they had made a lot of progress with their initiatives, therefore they could not let the entire castle they had built so far collapse from such an absurd development, which is based on such absurd claims.
Rama did not mention the Open Balkans initiative which was launched by him and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Rama further said that he felt good when he heard good words about the screening process, as a result of the reforms made in Albania. /argumentum.al
