The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, spoke at the meeting of the Foreign Policy Committee of this political force, where he also focused on relations with Serbia.
According to Meta, relations with this state were established when he was prime minister and not with the arrival of Rama, which, as Meta points out, have become more dangerous.
“The Freedom Party – said Ilir Meta, only knows the Berlin process”, while emphasizing that “relations with Serbia will not have any obstacles”.
Regarding the issue of Kosovo, Ilir Meta said that “we will respect the institutions of Kosovo and their decisions”.
“I want to be direct in my relations with Serbia. I want to leave a little modesty aside, the relations with Serbia did not start with the arrival of Edi Rama, with the arrival of Rama they became dangerous for the independence of Kosovo, for the integrity of our politics, they were personalized in the service of the installation of autocracy in this region. The creation of a process that even Rama was forced to distance himself from, the creation of the Open Balkans.
Relations with Serbia have been restored during the time I was prime minister and with the departure of Milosevic with dizzying speed, the late former prime minister Zoran Djindjic, former president Tadic and so on. Albania has shown an extraordinary will for better relations with Serbia, because the Serbian people have many values, but unfortunately there have been very strong influences from the east.
