TIRANA, May 6 – The Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi, met on Saturday with the Secretary General of INTERPOL, Jürgen Stock, who is on his first visit to Albania, a visit which also coincides with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of this organization that facilitates international police cooperation.
In a post on social networks, Çuçi announced that he shared with him Albania’s main priorities in the fight against organized crime, which is increasingly taking on transnational forms and in this new context, better and better coordination of work between all countries is the right way to address this problem.
The Minister underlined that the State Police today enjoys a high level of trust in our partners and is currently in a new phase of cooperation with INTERPOL and other international agencies, being an active participant and playing a leading role in many cases in the Joint Operational Investigation Teams.
He also informed the head of INTERPOL on the steps for the modernization of the State Police through investments like never before in technology and digital equipment.
“We greatly appreciate the cooperation with INTERPOL for other global security challenges such as terrorism and cybercrime,” declared the Minister of the Interior. /Argumentum.al
