TIRANA, November 13 – An investigative journalist was attacked in Tirana on Sunday by still unidentified persons. According to reports, journalist Adriatik Doçi was followed by several people and then was hit with hard objects near his apartment in the Albanian capital.
The journalist of Report TV said that he suspected that the attack was carried out because of his duty, while he was sure that the person who attacked him is linked with segments of corruption and organized crime.
“Unidentified persons hit me from behind in a surprising way around noon when I was returning to the apartment. I could not identify them. I had no communication with them. They just hit me in a surprising and insidious way from behind. I didn’t mind because I didn’t think they would shoot me. I had threats, but no concrete physical violence. This was the first episode of physical violence,” he said. According to the journalist, strong suspicions are that the hit is due to duty as he had no conflict with any person.
