TIRANA, August 14 – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived with her family in Vlora, southern Albania, on Monday afternoon.
Under strict security measures at the port of Vlora, Meloni was received by Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well as employees of the Italian consulate, to escort her to the government villa in Vlora.
It is learned that Meloni interrupted her vacation on a farm in the Puglia area and left Brindisi on a ferry to Vlora with her husband Andrea Giambruno, daughter Ginevra and her sister Arianna and husband Francesco Lollobrigida.
The Italian media said that the Prime Minister has accepted the invitation of Prime Minister Rama to visit Albania, while she is expected to stay in Vlora for 2 to 3 days. Rama’s invitation to Meloni has been public in recent interviews given to the Italian media, where the focus was on the boom in Italian tourists to Albania. Rama called Meloni “Albania’s little sister”.
For months, Albania has been facing a boom in tourists from all over the world, including Italians, who are attracted by fascinating places and cheap prices. Even the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is in Albania. He arrived in Himara by helicopter on Sunday evening. /argumentum.al
