TIRANA, March 16 – The Appeals and Sanctions Commission (KAS) has decided to register the faction of the Democratic Party (DP) headed by Enkelejd Alibeaj in the May 14 local elections.
KAS met on Thursday to consider the request of the DP faction represented by Enkelejd Alibeaj for registration in the May 14 local elections.
After listening to the legal representatives of the two groups, KAS decided with a majority of votes to partially accept the appeal request of the Alibeaj group, asking the legal representative to file with the CEC the statement with the data on the vice president Enkelejd Alibeaj, in the capacity of the acting president as well as the statement of solemn commitment signed by the vice-president Alibeaj in the capacity of the chairman on duty.
This decision was approved by a majority vote of the KAS members, turning down the ruling of the CEC head, Ilirjan Celibashi who did not register this DP faction.
The representative of this group, Indrit Sefa, said that the request for election registration was signed by him as a legal representative at the CEC. /Argumentum.al
