The US Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim, addressed some questions to the mayoral candidates for the March 6 local by-elections.
Kim asked on Monday what they would promise voters and what Albanians and the US should expect if their supporter is someone designated by the US for major corruption.
“Questions for Candidates: If your main supporter is someone publicly designated by the United States for major corruption, what exactly are you promising voters? Who will own you if you win, and what will you owe them? What should Albanians expect? “What should the United States expect?” asked Ambassador Kim.
The US ambassador also noted that 4 people have been declared ‘non grata’ by the US. The veteran leader of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha is one of the four persons declared persona non grata.
“Reminder: The United States has publicly designated four persons in Albania under Article 7031 (c),” said Ambassador Yuri Kim. / Argumentum.al
