The Parliament of Kosovo will hold Monday an extraordinary session when MPs will vote on adoption of the Budget 2021.
Chief of Parliamentary Group of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Arben Gashi has confirmed that at the request of 40 MPs, on Monday at 11:00hrs the extraordinary session on adoption of the Law on Budget 2021, as well as ratification of several international agreements will be held, according to Gazeta Express on Friday.
Afterwards the Parliament is expected to disband itself because the Constitutional Court of Kosovo ruled that current Government of Avdullah Hoti was elected in violation with the Constitution and Kosovo must hold snap elections. Parliament adopted the current government in June thanks to an invalid vote by a lawmaker who has been convicted of fraud with a final court’s decision.
The Court decided that the vote of MP Etem Arifi of the minority Ashkali Party for Integration for the Cabinet of Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti was invalid and consequently “the Government has not taken the majority of the votes of the lawmakers.”
Arifi’s vote gave the government 61 votes in the 120-seat chamber, and without it the confirmation would have failed. The Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti urged Wednesday political parties in Parliament to approve the budget first and announce early elections later to avoid institutional crisis. /argumentum.al
