TIRANA, August 4 – The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti has reacted regarding the withdrawal of 25% of the Kosovo police from the buildings of the municipalities in the north of the country.
In a post on social networks on Friday, Kurti said that this was in line with the assessment on the security situation made by the meeting of Kosovo Police leaders with EULEX and KFOR held on Wednesday.
According to him, the security is good, the situation is calm, and they could reduce the presence of the Kosovo police.
Kurti underlined that the rule of law and public order are being maintained better and better since it’s been about a month and a half without significant incidents and violent protests.
The PM thanked the police and citizens without distinction for cooperation and correctness.
In addition, Kurti said that they are implementing with responsibility and seriousness, sincerity and care, the Bratislava agreement of July 10, 2023 in function of the EU’s demands for de-escalation on June 3, 2023.
“We are alert for the potential re-escalation that could come from statements that incite hatred and the political and state aggressiveness of our northern neighbor,” Kurti said. /argumentum.al
