TIRANA, February 5 – The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has declared that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has clear territorial claims against Kosovo and other neighboring states of the Western Balkans.
Osmani said in an interview for “Vecernji List” that Vucic is aiming to destabilize the region to achieve his goals, but Kosovo with its forces and with the help of NATO will prevent these scenarios.
Osmani was asked about the sending of the Serbian army near the border with Kosovo. “Certainly, Vucic’s actions are disturbing, not only for us, but also for the wider region, because his aim is destabilization. He wants to block our region from taking the Atlantic route, and at the same time, this is also Russia’s wish. The Russians want to see the Western Balkans destabilized, and Vucic is doing a big favor to Vladimir Putin with his policy,” said Osmani.
According to her, Vucic plays as Putin’s collaborator, so he sends the army to the border (of Kosovo), cooperates with paramilitary forces creating problems, thus proving not only his own intentions but also Putin’s.
“It is dangerous to have a neighbor like Serbia, and this is the reason that we are working on our defense options. But there is also NATO in Kosovo to prevent certain scenarios,” she said.
Osmani was confident that there will be peace and stability in Kosovo, which the citizens will enjoy, and we will make the necessary reforms towards Euro-Atlantic integration, while Vucic will try with destabilizing efforts, but he will fail. /Argumentum.al
