TIRANA, June 14 – The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has called the kidnapping of three Kosovo policemen inside the territory of the country by Serbian forces on Wednesday as aggression and an aim for escalation and destabilization.
Kurti demanded the immediate release of three police officers, and called on the international community to condemn this act of aggression by Serbia in a post on social networks quoted by KosovaPress.
“Three Kosovo police officials were kidnapped today in Leposaviq, in the place where there used to be an illegal smuggling route, which is located about 300 meters inside the territory of our state. We suspect that they were kidnapped by the Serbian army, clearly as a revenge of Serbia for yesterday’s arrest of the notorious criminal, Millun Millenkovic – Lune, who represents one of the leaders of organized crime and smuggling,” Kurti said.
In addition, the PM said that the Kosovo police have shown themselves to be very restrained in recent weeks.
“The entry of Serbian forces into the territory of Kosovo is aggression and an aim for escalation and destabilization. We demand the immediate release of the three kidnapped police officials and appeal to international factors to condemn this act of aggression by Serbia,” said Kurti on Facebook.
