TIRANA, March 14 – The special envoy of the European Union for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Miroslav Lajcak, said that if there is no Association of Serbian municipalities, there will be no agreement between the two countries.
In an interview for RTS on Tuesday, he said that the EU proposal talks about normalization, not about any kind of capitulation.
Lajcak has repeated several times that the Association of Serbian municipalities should be formed and has emphasized that “if there is no Association, there is no agreement”. He said that there will not be a loser and a winner from this agreement.
“The goal is to seek a favorable situation and open the European door,” Lajcak said.
Kosovo and Serbia have agreed on the content of the European Plan for the normalization of relations. Discussions are being held within the framework of the implementation plan. The emissary of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, has been in Kosovo and Serbia in recent days to discuss the implementation of this plan.
Lajçak had said that there are 15 models of minority rights that Kosovo can consider, and Kosovo PM Albin Kurti said on Monday that they are dealing with them.
The heads of the two states will meet on March 18 in Ohrid, North Macedonia. /Argumentum.al
