A mega-operation took place in the city of Elbasan, where as it is learned about 27 arrest warrants were issued on Tuesday. According to local media referring to police sources, some of those arrested are prison police.
The investigation has been launched by the ICS since 2020 for several prisons and cities. Arrest warrants are for criminal offenses, abuse of office, corruption and exercising illegal influence.
More than 14 people have been arrested and the search for other people is ongoing. These persons with police duty took into prisons illegal items and abused their duty by favoring various convicts who served their sentences in Peqin prison, according to details on the operation.
