TIRANA, February 7 – The chairman of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party (SP), Taulant Balla, informed on Tuesday that the Conference of Chairmen had made the decision to hold the motion with debate requested by the opposition on the “McGonigal” case.
In a statement to the media after the end of the meeting, Balla emphasized that even earlier the majority expressed their readiness for the motion with a debate in the Assembly.
“The conference of chairmen has approved the holding of the motion with debate. The motion with debate will take place. It remains to determine how long the debate will be,” said Balla.
Balla described as absurd the opposition’s request for the session of the motion with an unlimited debate, while emphasizing that the rules of the Assembly have given the authority to the Conference of Chairmen to determine the time and when it will take place.
“The regulation said it must be held within 30 days. I have had a proposal to be a 12 -hour debate. A full day from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, which allows every MP, regardless of parliamentary group, to have 5 minutes of time to speak on this issue,” he said.
Balla noted that “the prime minister has no worries about answering an issue that has nothing to do with Albania.”
Asked about the request for the establishment of the investigative commission on this issue, Balla said the request has not been considered. /Argumentum.al
