TIRANA, February 22 – The Chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, spoke to the media after leaving the Special Prosecutor’s Office, SPAK on Wednesday. Meta said that he was called for an issue that is repeated every time the Socialist Party (SP) is in crisis.
“I had an invitation to come to SPAK a few days ago on an issue that started mainly in 2019,” said Meta. In the meantime he said that there were many expectations that SPAK would be a real leader in the fight against corruption, especially towards high officials. “There are dozens of reports of mine, even as president, on concrete and special issues, custom laws, or the denunciation of the Assembly that forged the signature of the former Speaker of the Assembly in the process for the dismissal of the president.”
Meta said that Wednesday’s call had to do with CEZ and CEZ-DIA issues. “In this case, it is an issue that has been repeated and activated every time Rilindja is in crisis,” said Meta, who believed that he had given exhaustive clarifications since 2015, when this issue was first opened in public .
“Ilir Meta has nothing to do with the privatization of CEZ because I was in the opposition. Ilir Meta has nothing to do with the CEZ-DIA agreement, because it was made at a time when I was not the Minister of Economy,” said the head of the FP, underlining that there was no act or document that Ilir Meta favored anyone. /Argumentum.al
