“It has been a rigged match since it started,” was the comment on the general elections of April 25 last year made by President Ilir Meta speaking to the media in the southeastern city of Korca on Friday.
Asked by reporters about the statements linked with the April 25 poll, Meta said that those elections were sold out before they started.
Democratic Party (DP) led by Lulzim Basha suffered the fifth defeat by the Socialist majority led by PM Edi Rama since 2013. Rama has claimed that he will win even the next general elections.
“He did not win; it was a sold match that did not start. It has been a tricky match since it started. I will not make any promises, as I did not participate in the elections of April 25 and I will not participate in the (local power) elections on March 6,” said Meta.
“In the first election, after removing the president’s suit, you will have me in real battles,” said the head of state.
“Ilir Meta is not one of those who sells matches, and never betrays the Albanian public and people,” concluded President Meta. / Argumentum.al
