TIRANA, August 26 – The head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, has spoken about what is expected to happen in September, as well as the coordination that his party will have with the Democratic Party (DP) of Sali Berisha.
“In September we will see an extraordinary engagement of the opposition. Since the evening of July 25, the FP is at full capacity in fulfilling the opposition’s task because Albania needs a lot to increase the trust in the dedication for the change and the overthrow of this rotten, anti-national system that is destroying every day the hope in this country and especially of Albanian youth,” Meta told FaxNews on Friday.
Meta also touched upon the statement made by the head of PD, Sali Berisha on civil disobedience if Prime Minister Edi Rama doesn’t respond to the citizens’ call to leave power.
“We are here to give that missing dimension to the opposition in the country, the real power to the people, to lead towards a change which will finally put an end to the personalization of the state and its capture by a clique…. Ramovic will run away like Milosevic, and more smoothly,” said Meta, a former president.
“Rama will be overthrown as he deserves with our determination to return legitimacy to the Albanian people and our institutions. He will leave how Milosevic left despite the fact that we are dealing with a simpler case here,” said the FP head.
