President Ilir Meta has called on Albanians
to unite against a new invasion by a sect and a gang of oligarchs who have usurped institutions and taken hostage Albania and the future of every Albanian.
Meta made this pathetic appeal on the occasion of marking the 78th anniversary of the Peza Conference which was held on September 16, 1942 aiming to organize the various political forces in a joint war against fascist Italy. Following disputes among different political leaders of that time this organization was renamed the National Liberation Front being led by the then Communist Party of Albania.
“Peza means unity, struggle and resistance, regardless of religion, province and ideas in defense of the national interest,” said Meta on Wednesday.
“The messages conveyed even today, after 78 years, by the Peza Conference are more current than ever to put aside divisions and short-term interests, and to unite against a new invasion by a sect and a gang of oligarchs who have usurped institutions and have taken hostage the future of every Albanian and the European future of our country,” underlined Meta.
The President launched the following appeal in conclusion of his message:
“Peza is a trust: Besa-besa (loyal) to save Albania! Today or never!” /argumentum.al
