TIRANA, August 11 – The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj has decreed the date of September 24, 2023 as the date of the Elections for the Mayor in the Municipality of Kukës.
Begaj announced on Friday the decree no. 186 dated 11.08.2023 for “Setting the date of the elections for the Mayor of Kukes Municipality”.
Former mayor Safet Gjici resigned on June 16, after the publication of the video scandal in the latter’s office with Alma Kaçin, paving the way for new elections.
Safet Gjici was arrested by order of SPAK under the charge of passive corruption on June 24, 2023. The arrest was made in Tirana near his house. /argumentum.al
