TIRANA, September 28 – The head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta has opposed the statement of Prime Minister Edi Rama in a press conference on the parallels he drew betfor the North of Kosovo with the situation in Donbas.
“I strongly condemn the statements of Prime Minister Rama and the parallels he draws between the North of Kosovo with the situation in Donbas,” said Meta in a post on the social network Facebook on Thursday.
According to Meta, the very difficult situation in the North of Kosovo has been administered with the highest professionalism by the police and the institutions of the state of Kosovo.
“We fully support the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Kosovo, who are exercising their rights in maintaining public order, the territory and the sovereignty of the country,” said Meta, a former president. “Rama’s request to place the North of Kosovo under the control of KFOR is simply a repetition of Vucic’s messages and theses, to consider the North of Kosovo a frozen conflict, serving the Serbian project of dividing Kosovo, while the Republic of Kosovo is today an independent, democratic, multi-ethnic state, recognized in the international arena.”
In addition, he said that the prime minister of Albania should give up once and for all the interference in the internal affairs of Kosovo.
“His constitutional duty and his responsibility is to strictly punish the Serbian aggressors and provocateurs and ask Serbia to recognize Kosovo, as well as sign and implement the Brussels Agreement and the Ohrid annex,” said Meta. /argumentum.al
