TIRANA, December 6 – A serious incident occurred at the beginning of the protest organized by the Albanian opposition against PM Edi Rama as he was hosting the EU-WB Summit in Tirana on December 6, 2022.
A citizen identified as Gert Shehu, 31, from Mallkastra, resident in Tirana, attacked the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, punching him in the face causing severe wounds while he was walking alongside the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Metës towards the boulevard “Dëshmorët e Kombit” to participate in the protest.
The situation at the protest became tense, as supporters and sympathizers of the DP violated the aggressor. Later he was arrested by the state police.

“The people of the opposition, the people of victory. Down with Edi Rama, down with the criminals. We will triumph. Long live the Albanian opposition. We honor you who are here today together to protest against the regime of villains and criminals. Honor forever to the protesting people,” said Berisha.
