Another deputy of the Democratic Party (DP) has joined the group of MPs asking for the resignation of the DP chairman, Lulzim Basha after the overwhelming loss in the partial local elections held on March 6.
In a post she made on social networks, the deputy, Merita Baku, said that the DP will only survive if they unite, while emphasizing that their political force must go to new elections.
She emphasized that the vote of the citizens showed the reality in which the DP is, and according to her now is not the time to hide behind the party’s logo.
“We are in a difficult situation, perhaps worse than in 1997, because in addition to the terrible loss, we also have a divided DP. At this moment, if we do not take responsibility, we will be witnesses of the final destruction,” she said.
According to Baku, no one can hide after logos because membership and moreover popular votes showed the reality.
“The responsibility starts first with you, chairman (Lulzim Basha) and below. The DP escapes by joining and this union begins with your resignation and leading to new elections within the DP where the members, friends and collaborators who have joined the Foltore (Berisha’s movement) today are also part of it,” she said.
“It is not a question of finding the culprit, but of taking responsibility and making a solution. We owe the unification to the Democrats,” concluded Baku, a supporter of Basha. /Argumentum.al
