The Head of the EU Delegation to Tirana, Ambassador Luigi Soreca called for the unification of political parties in Albania to join forces, saying that his departure does not change anything in Albania’s path towards the EU.
“They should find political cooperation on what is the priority, which is integration and political debates should be exactly on this,” said Soreca who ended his mandate in Albania without succeeding in making possible the opening of the intergovernmental negotiations of Albania with the Union
“We will bring experts to Albania to prepare the Albanian team, and my departure will not change anything from the full commitment of the delegation,” he pledged on Monday, which was his last statement in Tirana before leaving.
“I have traveled all over Albania, I have traveled thousands of kilometers, I can be the person who has traveled the most in Albania, and everywhere I have seen that people have realized that the priority is EU integration,” said the outgoing Ambassador.
“The time for the wedding has already come, the rings are ready, and the member states know what they want. They want the membership negotiations to open,” said Soreca who promised he would return to Albania perhaps with another task, but also as an ordinary citizen. /Argumentum.al
