TIRANA, April 5 – At the International Tourism Convention co-organized for the first time in the Balkans with the World Tourism Organization which was held in Tirana on April 3, a map was displayed during the activity which attracted the attention not only of those present, but also of the public opinion.
A map of Albania and neighboring countries appeared in the background in the conference hall where Kosovo is shown as part of Serbia, although it is an independent state from Serbia since 2008.
Regarding this, Prime Minister Edi Rama accepted the absence of Kosovo on this map as an independent state, while he criticized the critics who reacted on the network and media.
“Maybe the patriots have found work today dealing with a map of the presentation of the president of the Spanish giant Melia Group at the tourism convention, where Kosovo was missing! It is known that Spain has the map of the region, but nothing bad came to the nation from the release of that map for 1 minute!” said Rama, who attended the event, on social networks on Wednesday.
Further, he said that Albania is not Iran, where the presentations of guests at international conferences are checked, and the convention was not even the diplomatic platform for the recognition of Kosovo by Spain! Evil comes to our nation from those who deal all day with such unrelated wars between Albanians, said Rama.
As of May 2020, 22 of the 27 EU member states recognized the Republic of Kosovo as an independent state. The EU states that do not recognize Kosovo’s independence are Spain, Slovakia, Cyprus, Romania, and Greece. /Argumentum.al
