Prime Minister Edi Rama accused President Ilir Meta of blocking funds for the construction of the road that will connect Vlora with Radhima and Orikum, southern Albania.
Rama said that all Vlora knows that the project is blocked by Ilir Meta, while Mayor Dritan Leli said that the blocking of funds has created a growing concern in public opinion. Those revelations were made in the city of Vlora on Monday where the government head inspected the new tourist infrastructure project, together with Mayor Leli.
“We did not want to hold a public debate on this, but it is a fact that since the beginning of November we have been waiting for the full authorization of the President, after we have done all the negotiations with the Saudi fund,” Rama said.
The PM said it is a total blockade, because as long as the full authorization is not given, the project cannot be carried out, and it is a considerable fund to develop the project in two directions- the rehabilitation and systematization of this road up to Radhima, and then to Orikum, plus the other way. “Now all Vlora is aware that Ilir Meta blocks the project, and I do not know what it is the matter with him, or I know what it is but I do not want to deal with it. It is an absurd blocking. But we have promised to implement the project of Radhima,” concluded premier Rama. /argumentum.al
