TIRANA, July 1 – Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Saturday that the deepening of the “Berlin Process” is a necessity and a historic opportunity for the Western Balkans in conditions when the EU is ready to support a new financial and economic plan in the region.
At the same time, Rama announced the end of the “Open Balkans” which, according to him in a TV interview from Ulcinj, was an initiative born from the need to push forward the “Berlin Process” and has fulfilled the mission for which it was born.
The Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that “in October, Albania is hosting the Berlin Summit in the Balkans for the first time in Tirana, since Angela Merkel launched the process in 2014.”
He said that “Ursula Von der Leyen in Bratislava gave a first message regarding the plan to increase financing, to increase the access of the countries of the Western Balkans to the common European market by increasing the economic instruments.”
In the meantime PM Rama revealed that he plans to make a tour in the region to meet with all the prime ministers and presidents of the regional countries and to talk about that process, asking them for cohesion and cooperation. /argumentum.al
