TIRANA, March 31 – Albania and Bulgaria signed the agreement on social insurance which regulates the insurance of the citizens of Bulgaria and Albania when they work in the respective countries.
Appreciating the signing of this agreement, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that “Albania marks another success in the recognition of social security for Albanian citizens abroad.”
The Bulgarian Minister of Labor and Social Policies, Lazar Lazarov, signed the Social Security Agreement with Albania on Thursday. The document was signed in the presence of the Albanian ambassador, Donika Hoxha. The agreement was also signed by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj.
“The signing of the bilateral agreement is important for the regulation of the social rights of citizens and the regulation of relations between institutions and businesses,” said Lazarov. He expressed the belief that the traditionally good cooperation between the two countries will continue.
To be implemented, the Social Security agreement between Bulgaria and Albania must be ratified by the National Assemblies. This will enable the insured persons in Bulgaria and Albania to realize their social rights. /argumentum.al
