TIRANA, November 18 – “Non grata (Democratic Party chairman Sali Berisha) took money from foreigners to cause conflicts in the country,” said on Friday Prime Minister Edi Rama during the presentation of public investments made in the municipality of Vlora, southern Albania, which is a bastion of the Socialist Party.
“We have come to the point that in our country we have a force made up of some sold people who every day fill with poison all the waters that move in the world of public communication,” said Rama.
He said that former DP chairman Lulzim Basha is not in his function anymore but Sali Berisha and Ilir Meta are again in party posts. “They are for the great misfortune of this country, they are a continuation of that curse that started at the exact moment that the Albanian state was created here in Vlora and that has followed the Albanians since 1912,” said Rama.
Rama also spoke about the Russian funding of DP, while adding that this party received money from foreigners to create turmoil in the country.
“What reason does Russia have to pour half a million dollars for an Albanian party to overthrow the government of this country and what do you have to be, except an infidel, without knowledge, without faith, without a country to take money from foreigners, whoever they are,” he said. According to the PM, “DP has given proof to Russia that it deserves those funds.”
Rama stressed that “if there is one thing that the Socialist Party is one and only, that it is the only Albanian party that has never violated or harmed the national interest at any moment since the day of its creation.” /Argumentum.al
