Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has expressed strong confidence that his ruling Socialist Party (SP) will win the parliamentary elections to be held on April 25 next year.
Speaking in Vlora, southern Albania, a stronghold of the SP, Rama said on Friday that what his government was doing was not linked with the upcoming elections. He took opportunity of the event to announce the restart of the procedures for the Vlora airport.
According to him, the process will reopen in the first week of October this year beginning to get the international offers to finalize the contract for the Vlora airport.
“We win the elections thanks to these (projects) or despite them. This is something that cannot be discussed,” he said admitting that the last one- year period since the earthquake and the ongoing pandemic has not been an easy time.
“People are wiser than anyone else of us,” said the PM.
