TIRANA, July 28 – Two days after convening the National Assembly of the ruling Socialist Party (SP), Prime Minister Edi Rama is holding an extended meeting of the government, where ministers and deputy ministers participate (July 28-29, 2023).
The meeting is being held in one of the hotels in Uji i Ftohte in Tepelena, southern Albania, and it started around 12:00 on Friday and most likely it can continue on Saturday, local media covering the event reported.
“Reflections and exchange of thoughts and ideas on the eve of a new season of reforms and self-reformation. Moments from the extended meeting of the government that will last two days,” said Rama on social networks on Friday as he also published some photos of the meeting.
Sources close to the government informed that an in-depth analysis of the activity of each ministry is being carried out.
It is also discussed about the objectives of each department for the new season that starts in September. It still remains unconfirmed if this meeting will produce a government reshuffle.
Just two days ago, the news circulated that Prime Minister Edi Rama dismissed the Minister of Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj in an extraordinary government meeting. This news was rejected both by Rama and Ibrahimaj herself, who considered the news as “summer rumor”.
The prime minister repeated in the last meeting of the SP Assembly his stance that neither the government nor the party will become a shield for anyone who will have problems with justice and that he would deal with the government in the Tepelena meeting.
