TIRANA, June 26 – Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted regarding the release of 3 officers who were arrested by the Serbian police, saying that this is late but good news.
Among other things, he said on Twitter on Monday that in the meeting in Brussels, where he was invited by Charles Michel, President of the European Council, the problems and tensions in the north of Kosovo were discussed.
The meeting was confirmed by the European Council website which reported that Charles Michel, President of the European Council, met Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, on 26 June 2023 in Brussels.
On the other hand, Rama affirmed that Belgrade and Pristina have their eyes on the front of internal politics, and not on the solution of the crisis, which according to him, if not solved, will have long-term consequences.
“Unfortunately, recently both sides have their eyes on the front of internal politics and polls inflamed by nationalist rhetoric. While the vital dialogue for the future of the entire region and relations with the democratic world have been turned away,” Rama said.
According to him, the strategic myopia regarding dialogue, the delay of the excellent Franco-German plan, the deviation of the focus on the demonstrations of force and, as a result, the degradation of the situation in the North, can cost the whole region, Serbia without a doubt, yes especially Kosovo more than anyone else.
“Albania will do its best to prevent this from happening, because it would be crazy that the fragile peace we have built throughout these years in the framework of the Berlin Process and through various initiatives be affected,” said Rama. /argumentum.al
