The Albanian government has successfully completed the third humanitarian operation to repatriate women and children from Syria’s Al Hol and Roj camps and its PM Edi Rama is in Lebanon to follow himself this repatriation operation, which is the 3rd one. Only women and children are being repatriated.
According to Top Chanel TV on Saturday, it has been made possible to take 19 Albanian women and children from these camps.
They are expected to arrive in Albania at noon on Sunday.
The Albanian team consisting of Marc Ghorayeb, non-resident advisor to Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well as representatives of the Lebanese State Police and National Security are currently in the Al Hasaka area of northeastern Syria to receive 19 Albanian citizens. They will first travel to Damascus and then arrive in Beirut.
The survivors of the ‘hell camps’ will then remain in a secret location under the guard of security forces and the personal care of Lebanese national security director General Abbas Ibrahim, without whose commitment this would not have been possible, reported the local TV.
As in the second operation in October 2020, when a woman and four children were repatriated, Prime Minister Edi Rama himself went to Beirut together with the Interior Minister, Bledi Cuci and director of the anti-terror directorate at the State Police
Gledis Nano.
Minister Cuci said this is the third repatriation operation and it is particular because only women and children, victims of this human tragedy, are being repatriated.
