Lulzim Basha has the seal of the Democratic Party (DP), but has no political legitimacy, said Prime Minister Edi Rama in an interview on a local TV on Thursday.
In a comment on the events of January 8 at the DP headquarters Rama said it was neither Albanian nor a citizen like as citizens do not make armored doors. “What are you arming the doors for? You call the police, and tell them if you are okay,” he said, adding that the DP adversaries have lost their political legitimacy.
Asked about the US position on the opposition, Rama said Americans say they know that DP and let’s work with that chairman because he has the seal.”I say that in these conditions we have a DP that is no longer a DP, it is a separate thing with armored doors and batons. Now with whom should I be with the armored doors or the batons? This is a very difficult choice,” Rama said.
Regarding the position of the US Ambassador, Yuri Kim, Rama said that, “the US Ambassador represents a country which has not only put the red line on Sali (Berisha), but is behaving in the most ridiculous way like a Don Quixote.”
Meanwhile, Rama stated that a normal president should be found for the country, as Ilir Meta is the most abnormal in the whole gallery of abnormalities that the country has had.
“We have the most abnormal President in the whole gallery of abnormalities that we have had. It has been a very long time since we last had a normal president. Yes this is the abnormality itself there. Definitely the thing we need – we need a normal person. A normal President “, said Rama.
Asked if Basha can nominate the new president, Rama said, “but why will we turn Presidency’s gate into an armored one now? It is a matter of political legitimacy. It is the same as going to talk to (former opposition MP) Kujtim Gjuzi. Even Kujtim Gjuzi was not non grata.”
Asked if there will be a consensual president, Rama said that they will follow the dynamics as there are several months until the decision is made. / Argumentum.al
