Calling Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ‘dear friend’ Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Monday on a meeting he held with Erdogan at his summer residence in Marmaris.
Along with the news Rama posted on social media networks a photo with the Turkish President writing that they discussed the relations between Albania and Turkey as well as the challenge of the time- Covid-19. The situation in the Western Balkans region was among the topics of the meeting. Rama was earlier in Greece where he met the highest authorities of that country at a time when the Turkish-Greek conflict is tenser than ever. Below is the full post of Rama:
“With the President of Turkey, the dear friend, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in one of the conversations during the stay at his summer residence in Marmaris, where we spoke extensively about the relations between Albania and Turkey, the challenge of time to strengthen the economy in the face of Covid -19, the progress of bilateral cooperation, as well as the situation in the Western Balkans region.”
After the meeting with President Erdogan, PM Rama had a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aljev.
Among other things, Rama emphasized that he discussed with the Head of that state the issue of the Ballsh Refinery receiving the commitment of him “to help solve the long-term problem created by its infamous privatization of years ago.”
