TIRANA, September 19 – Prime Minister Edi Rama had a meeting with British Foreign Minister James Cleverly in New York, where the High Level Week of the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly is taking place. The news was announced by the Prime Minister himself by publishing photos of the meeting on social networks on Tuesday.
The Albanian delegation to the UN is chaired by President Bajram Begaj and includes Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani.
For the first time in the history of its membership in the UN Albania has a seat as a non-permanent member of the Security Council from January 2022, whose two-year mandate ends in December of this year.
Rama did not give details of the meeting, but in Albania the implementation of the agreement with Great Britain regarding the transfer of Albanian prisoners who are in the United Kingdom has started.
During this period, the number of Albanian citizens going illegally to the United Kingdom has decreased by 90% compared to last year. /argumentum.al
