TIRANA, October 18 – Prime Minister Edi Rama declared in Përmet, southern Albania, on Tuesday that the price of energy for households and small businesses has not yet increased in this Balkan country.
In a meeting with the residents of the city, Rama said that the consumption that goes for all the needs of daily life costs many times more than what families and businesses pay, Rama said, adding that it is the government which pays for it.
“We will continue to keep the price where it was before this flame started,” he said.
According to him, Albania produces 75% of its energy needs, while the other 25% is bought in the market.
Even the new budget for 2023 foresees that no one will be hit by the price of electricity, Rama underlined. Meanwhile, he informed that the government is discussing the imposition of an extraordinary tax on energy producers, who generate and sell it on the free market. /Argumentum.al
