TIRANA, September 21 – “Kosovo’s independence is sanctioned by the International Criminal Court in Chapter 14 of the United Nations Charter, and the International Criminal Court cannot serve as a pretext for territory grabbing or illegal annexation,” has declared Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Rama made this statement when he led the High-Level Open Debate at the UN headquarters in New York on Wednesday, where the Albanian Presidency of the Security Council leads one of the most important sessions on “Respecting the goals and principles of the Charter of the UN through multilateralism: “Maintaining the peace and security of Ukraine”. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and 50 heads of state participated at the meeting.
The government head stated that if the peace that lasts in the WB region today is tangible, it is again about the lessons learned effectively to overcome the past and shape a common future of cooperation.
According to him, the free movement of people, goods and services, and capital should be encouraged, not artificial barriers. Rama spoke out against building walls for the ghosts of the past to hide behind endless blame games. /argumentum.al
