TIRANA, July 11 – Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about the danger from cyber attacks and the police action in the MEK camp in Manze, Durrres, a few weeks ago in a conversation with the Expert of the European Center of the Atlantic Council, Rachel Rizzo on “Systemic challenges to values and common interests” in Vilnius on Tuesday.
Rama declared that based on the agreement, it was clear that the Mujahideen should not turn Albania into a platform to attack Iran’s regime, and as a result, Iran carried out cyber attacks against Albania.
“As an example, I can say that we are a small country and we are not in a position to change the fate of any war, conflict or battle, but when we are asked to help, we are very happy to do it,” he said, referring to the sheltering of MEK in Albania.
“Albanians have it in their DNA to save the lives of others. The agreement was clear that they (the Mujahideen) would stay in Albania to be safe and not to turn Albania into a political platform to attack the (Iranian) regime. We were affected by cyber attacks from Iran. We are trying to do a lot to strengthen cyber security,” said Rama.
Furthermore, Rama was quoted by news24 as having said that as far as the USA is concerned, they have not supported Albania enough.
“They are not full supporters, as much as we would like, let’s say it openly. They can do whatever they want with this statement, they can do anything to me, no problem,” said the head of the Albanian government. /argumentum.al
