TIRANA, September 28 – Prime Minister Edi Rama said in a press conference on Thursday that the region deserves to hear from the EU the loud and clear condemnation of Serbia’s declaration of national mourning for the death of Serb armed persons.
Rama said that the leadership of Kosovo can and certainly has all its flaws in the normalization dialogue process, but none of those flaws can equal the extraordinary weight of these serious developments, which are not compared to nothing bad that has happened between Kosovo and Serbia since 1999.
“Here we are before the shedding of innocent blood, and it is not the blood of a passerby who was killed on the road by a car with Serbian license plates, but the blood of an officer of the Kosovo State Police, who did not kill himself because he saw some civilians Serbs armed with hunt gun, were killed by people dressed in military clothes and heavily armed, who for the official Belgrade are worthy to lower the flag of Serbia at half-mast,” said Rama.
According to him, this is an illegal offense on the part of the criminal group, as well as institutional on the part of the Serbian state towards the values and principles of the EU, which does not need an investigation, but requires a loud and clear punishment.
Rama said that the EU must do that because not only Kosovo but the entire region has suffered in its history from the degradation of political brutality into murderous ethnic conflicts, which this history has taught us can escalate into a clash between armed ethnic groups in the blink of an eye. /argumentum.al
